Cyril Lagel, AVY (Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga) teacher authorized in KPJAYI Mysore by Sharath Jois, comes to beautiful Koh Samui (Thailand) to share his knowledge and fire with students of any levels, from beginners to experienced, on two languages, English and French. Don't miss this unique opportunity to practice yoga in paradise!
There are as many yoga classes as there are teachers… But Cyril has a communicative energy that carries and motivates! His encounter with Ashtanga is a combination of circumstances: big back problems force him to find, to open up to other possibilities to relieve his pains. Passionate about the underwater world and in particular with freedivers and deep-sea divers, he discovers their techniques to find the inner calm, the secret of surpassing oneself: asana, pranayama and meditation. His pain fades, finally disappearing after a few months.
In 2012, after years of studying yoga, Ayurveda yoga massage, anatomy of the movement, Ayurveda and Indian philosophy, Cyril decides to study at the source of KPJAYI's teaching in Mysore, the founding school of Ashtanga. He continues his journey by traveling to meet and study each year with teachers in this tradition (Sharath Jois, Petri Raisanen, Prem & Radha, Tim Feldman, Kino MacGregor). In 2018, after several trips and months to study at KPJAYI Mysore with Sharath Jois, he received from him the authorization (blessing) to teach "Authorized level 1" — he is one of the few accredited Ashtanga Yoga professors in France.
Cyril's classes are guided by his good mood and desire to transmit, combining pedagogy, trick and enthusiasm — all in a positive atmosphere. It definetely helps to progress: the smiles that are born on the faces of his students, the understanding of the capacities of each one to be surpassed both mentally and physically during the practices are as much satisfaction and motivation to share.
"Yoga is like a light that, once lit, never goes out again. The more you practice, the more the flame is alive."
